Giving Back

It’s been our mission from Day 1 to give back in meaningful ways to the community. In the few short years that we have been open, we have worked with several charitable organizations for various events. This year, we have made a serious commitment to two of them: Susie’s Place and Kammy’s Kause.

Kammy’s Kause

Kammy’s Kause is a local, Fortville-based organization that centers around Kammy, a beautiful young woman who at a young age was diagnosed with Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome (WHS), also known as 4p- Syndrome, an extremely rare chromosome disorder. Kammy is one of only a few hundred cases reported with this specific diagnosis. Very little research or support groups were available for this disease even 20 years ago. Nationally, the 4p- Support Group organization was formed to provide support in a variety of ways to individuals and caretakers. Kammy’s Kause feeds into the national organization and has helped raise over $700,000 directly to this group. We will be hosting the 2nd Annual Kammy’s Kause fundraiser at Moon Drops in October (details will follow – be prepared for a Ghoulish Gala with a haunted tour of the distillery!).

Susie’s Place

Susie’s Place in Avon came to us in an unexpected way. Through a mutual business associate, we were asked to support their annual fundraiser in 2023. While little was known to any of us about this child advocacy center organization, a meeting with their staff had an incredible impact on Mark, founder and his son Hank. Susie’s Place provides a safe haven for children of all ages who are the victims of abuse in all aspects of the word. They work with professionally trained, compassionate counselors to give these children the resources they need, and advocacy for the legal system. After understanding the work they do, we knew our commitment wasn’t just a one-time event. Moon Drops has become a significant supporter to Susie’s Place both in personal volunteering and their annual fundraiser which is taking place this Fall.
